Featuring dorothy Allemang using the guided relaxation and meditation techniques in her meditation cd

Meditation is a safe and simple way to balance the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the body.

Meditation keeps the mind and you in the present. When the mind is calm and focused in the present, it is neither reacting to memories from the past nor being preoccupied with plans for the future,  These are two major sources of stress in the majority of people’s lives.

Meditation really is the ultimate stress-buster. Stress being one of the biggest contributors to disease and illness.

The past is no more, the future is not yet here and both are unnecessarily moving in directions which don’t exist.

The essence of meditation is to focus the mind letting go of worries and fears and being fully in the present moment.

When meditating daily it becomes a habit. It becomes part of your daily routine like tooth brushing or bathing. Setting aside even a little time each day for a simple meditation routine either morning or evening creates a more peaceful state and focused mind. Most people feel less anxious and more in control. Beginners will find the guided meditations most useful.

Select a suitable place where you will not be disturbed. A corner of your bedroom or any other quiet spot in your home.

Choose a regular time each day either morning or evening .

Start with 15 minutes a day. These guided meditations are 12 to 15 minutes in duration.

Find a posture where you will be comfortable and your spine will be erect. Sitting with feet planted on the floor, hands resting easily, wiggle around to get comfortable and close your eyes.

Observe your body and consciously soften any tension. When you are physically stable, it becomes easier to enter the meditative state.

Breath is the key to life and essential to be in a relaxed state. Bring your attention to your breath. As you inhale push out your abdomen like inflating a balloon. As you exhale, visualize the air leaving and the balloon deflating.

Take your focus to your nostrils and feel the flow of breath in and out.

Let your breath be natural. Relax into each breath gathering up all the tension and blowing it out.

Your mind will start to wander, gather up each thought put it on a cloud and blow it out and away with the out breath. Continue to do this until the mind is clear and you are blessed with stillness.

You are now in a relaxed state and ready to experience one or all of the guided meditations of Sonic Meditations For You.

Scientific studies show the health benefits meditation has on our body and mind by reducing stress, increasing longevity and quality of life, reduction of chronic pain and reduced anxiety, reduced health care use, decreases blood pressure and creates an overall feeling of peace and joy.
